Many of Dr. Swanson’s patients see him after they have exhausted all other treatment options in their own countries.  Others wish to prevent the deterioration of their condition or take advantage of procedures not readily available by their own doctor.

To assess whether your case can be helped, you will need to be examined by Dr. Swanson.  Unfortunately, reviewing your records does not provide enough information to determine whether you are a good candidate for any treatment.  The fee for this appointment is nominal, and usually a fraction of what most patients pay for a routine eye exam.

English speaking staff members are available to help you schedule an appointment and answer most questions.  You should plan on at least two hours at the clinic.  Please have someone drive you as it is likely your eyes will be dilated.  Please bring spectacles, contact lenses and medications you might be taking. All prescription medication should be transported in their original container.

You will cross the border at Douglas, Arizona (there are hotels, restaurants and shopping in the area) to Agua Prieta. If you are driving a vehicle, you will need insurance coverage.  The clinic is one block from the border and within easy walking distance (you may request a map when making an appointment). Shuttle service is available in Douglas, Arizona.

As of January, 2008, US citizens ages 19 and over will need to present a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, and proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate, naturalization certificate or passport to re-enter the U.S.
